There’s those of us who love to exercise even when on holiday, and there’s others that while on holidays, won’t even pack their sneakers. You consider a holiday as not doing exercise at all.

It’s the different holidays we choose, are you the kind of person to book a relaxing beach holiday, laying on the beach and your form of exercise is swimming to the sunken bar in the pool? Then below may be a few ideas for you to add exercise into your next holiday away easily.

If you are the kind of person who likes the idea of a run or walk in the morning, and thinks by doing so, you are working off last night’s beer and wine, well below are also a few more ideas to spice up your holiday exercise and keep off the extra kgs over your holiday.

There are so many things you can do to vamp up the calorie burning activities during your holiday, no matter where you are. Whether it’s winter or summer, there’s always things you can incorporate to your days to make it a more active holiday.

  • Go for a run or walk on the beach, or in the bush, or even on the streets and check out the housing market along the way.

  • Go for a swim, at the beach, a local pool or a local river.

  • Visit the hotel gym, even though some are not great, they often have a few things you can set yourself up on to still have a great workout.

  • Pack a few things so you could do a workout in your hotel room. A skipping rope, a thera-band and/ or a TRX suspension trainer. All are all light weight and can be packed without adding huge kgs to your luggage.

  • Body weight circuits, whether indoors or outdoors. A mini circuit can be done easily anywhere, even a park or just a bench. Push ups, pull ups, squats, lunges and crunches just to name a few.

  • Hire a bike, go for a tour around. Ride to the café for coffee, put the car away.

They are just a few examples of things you can add to your holiday to make it more active. Remember to be creative and just have fun with your exercise and it still is a holiday after all so listen to your body and relax when it gets tired and rest!
